Regarding the new garbage and recycling bins. I have concerns with where we have been requested to place the cans on garbage day.
Placing them at the front of my driveway is inconvenient because I cannot drive out if the bins are there. In order to leave them in the driveway, I have to drive out, park on the side of the street, go back and wheel out the cans, then drive to work.
On arriving back home, I would have to park on the side of the street, move the cans out of the way, then drive into my driveway.
For me to do this, I would have to get up at least 20 minutes earlier (I already get up at 5 a.m.).
Presently, I place my cans on the boulevard as I have always done, however, I am wondering if the city will continue to pick up from there. If not, I would like to know who will be responsible should I be involved in an accident because of having to park on the street in order to set my bins in my driveway. Winter is another problem, especially if we get a lot of snow.
You can carry a bag to the curb but wheeling a big bin through the snow is not so easy. Not very well thought out.
