Woman struck by car at plaza

A woman suffered serious injuries Thursday, March 20 after she was hit by a minivan while walking on a sidewalk in front of a Scarborough store.

Police said the minivan, driven by an elderly man, struck the woman and a Canada Post mailbox at 3811 Sheppard Ave. E. around 10:50 a.m. The minivan continued through the parking lot and entered onto the roadway where it came to a stop.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious head and leg injuries.

Police are asking witnesses to call the traffic services unit at 416-808-1900.
