Sprinklers credited with extinguishing apartment building fire
Firefighters rushed to the six-storey building at about 12:15 p.m. and were met at the front entrance by a tenant of a top floor unit who said her apartment was on fire.
When firefighters entered the apartment, they weren't met by fire but by water spraying from the sprinkler head in the ceiling.
The tenant, who was cooking on the stove with oil when the fire unexpectedly started, wasn't hurt.
The fire caused minimal damage.
